Here is great video showcasing Dahlonega and Lumpkin County
Shameless plug for Dahlonega/Lumpkin County
Why would anyone want to live in Dahlonega?
In my extremely biased opinion Dahlonega Georgia is the greatest place in the country to grow up and live. My family has been in the Dahlonega area for over 200 years so to say the least we like it here pretty good. If you are a person that loves the outdoors here are some of the reasons one might want to consider relocating to Dahlonega. Approximately half of Lumpkin County is made up of the Chattahoochee National Forest which consist of awesome trout streams, hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail), mountain bike trails, hunting, horseback riding and rock climbing. The Yahoola Reservoir is a beautiful lake located in the city limits of Dahlonega offers great fishing and a 3.3 mile walking trail. For the golfers Dahlonega is home to a Jack Nicklaus design golf course. If that is not enough Dahlonega is considered one of Georgia’s premier cycling venues home to the 6 Gap Century and the 3 Gap Fifty bike ride held annually the last weekend in September. Dahlonega also has a rich history of being the home to the first major gold rush in the United States. There was so much gold found in the Dahlonega area the United States Congress saw fit to opened a branch mint in 1838. You never know your property might be sitting on the next big find. Dahlonega also boast having some incredible dining opportunities. Dahlonega host several great festivals throughout the year. The largest of these festivals is Gold Rush Days. Almost every weekend weather permitting one will find several “pickers” playing Bluegrass music on the square in Dahlonega also has periodic concerts in Hancock park located just off the square.
Give me a call and lets make Dahlonega your new home.
